NRF's Tita Freeman to BRT
"As head of an association representing leading U.S. CEOs it is only fitting to have one of Washington's most seasoned communicators on board. Tita returns to BRT and brings with her a tremendous amount of communication expertise having worked on behalf of large business trade groups as well as her numerous contacts in Washington," Engler said in a statement sent to the Alley. "She will be an extraordinary asset for American business as we move forward on policies that promote economic growth and job creation."
"It's an honor to have worked at the top three business trade groups in Washington in a short span of time. It's my little trifecta," Freeman told the Alley.

Team,
As you may know, Tita Freeman is leaving NRF to accept the position of Senior Vice President of Communications at the Business Roundtable (BRT), a Washington based organization representing CEOs from a broad cross section of the U.S. business community.
Earlier in her career, Tita spent more than five years at the Business Roundtable, so the idea of returning there in an executive position is very much a "homecoming" for her. Other than the opportunity to participate in the Facebook IPO, this is the only job in Washington that would have pulled her away from NRF!
While I am sorry to see her go, her contributions to NRF are evident in many of our current activities. During her time here, Tita played a critical role in achieving our goals of raising visibility and increasing effectiveness of our advocacy programs. Her leadership was instrumental to the launch of our Retail Means Jobs campaign, which I believe is the most important campaign in NRF's history, and is an effort that has created tremendous buzz about retail and our priorities in a very short amount of time. Finally, Tita led the transformation of our communications and public affairs department, creating a campaign-focused approach that delivers energetic, surround-sound style initiatives to impact our top priorities, positioning us for future success.
I know that Tita is a dedicated and loyal team player and that this was an extremely difficult and deeply personal decision for her, both because of her history with the BRT and her commitment to our future here at NRF. I know you will join me in wishing Tita the best of luck. As Tita said to me, we nowhave a very big fan of NRF working at another key trade association, and ultimately we are all working for the same team.
Tita and I met with the Communications team yesterday to ensure that we have coverage on our key priorities and that we can continue on the momentum we've created. We intend to begin a search for a new SVP immediately and will most likely be engaging a search firm to assist in that process. In the interim, please direct requests to Ellen, with whom I will be working closely as we make this transition.
Thanks,
Matt
